Virginia McCuin, regarded by her peers as a Master Engraver, grew up in Nevada on the Twin Springs Ranch in Railroad Valley, just outside of Tonopah. Born in 1940, Virginia was able to ride horses by the age of three, and helped around the ranch, gathered cattle, and participated in every phase of ranching. She found a love for engraving from her father, Willie Fallini, who made bits and spurs for the ranch.

In 1975, Virgina began to make jewelry pieces and in the early 80's began practicing engraving the jewelry. She began doing cuts on copper plate until she could do the work herself. From there, she taught herself what it took to make jewelry. Life in this traditional western atmosphere has instilled in Virginia a love of cowboy and horse jewelry. This is evident in the fine craftsmanship, unique style, and distinctive designs of all custom pieces she fashions. Virginia's themed pieces reveal her talent for engraving and for sculpting detailed figures out of gold and silver.

Virginia has been invited to a number of western wildlife and cowboy art shows to exhibit her fine craftsmanship. She has taught students, demonstrated at school museums, and participated in shows all over the western United States. Multiple articles have been written about her fine craftsmanship in magazines and newspapers. She has received many awards, including being invited to the Smithsonian Institute to present pieces of her custom art. Virginia received the Governor's Art Award for 2000 and was also selected on behalf of the Academy of Western Artists for the 2005 Will Rogers Cowboy Engraver of the Year Award.
